The
Abbeyfield Society
was founded in 1956 to provide care and companionship
for lonely, older people. It is our firm belief:
- That
older people have an important role to play amongs
t
their families, friends and in their community.
- That
overcoming loneliness and insecurity can make all
the difference to an older persons' wellbeing and
quality of life.
- That
local people have an essential part to play in helping
older people in their community.
Our
purpose is to provide older people with their own
home within the security and companionship of small
households that ca
n
become focal points for goodwill and friendly contact
within the community.
