With
very sheltered housing residents have the opportunity
to live as independently as possible in the
kind of setting they are used to, with their own possessions
around them and supported by volunteers from their
own community.
Houses vary but usually conform to this model:
- 6
- 10 Residents

cooked meals
- Secure,
private self furnished rooms
-
En suite facilities in most houses

residents who need some additional help
-

Abbeyfields very sheltered housing postpones or prevents
the onset of high dependency. Abbeyfield Societies
in Scotland have always provided this kind of accommodation
in small homely settings - real care in the community.
Our houses each support between 6-10 older
people, enabling them to keep control of their lives,
to be private or sociable at will. Like the best of
families, residents have a great deal of personal
space and the freedom to express their individuality
of style and purpose.
