Welcome to Abbeyfield Stirling
  to the Abbeyfield Stirling Society

Our house is a large converted Georgian house at Allan Park (for 8 residents). The house is in a prestigious area only a few minutes walk from the town centre for shops and coffee shops, churches and the Albert Hall, the Smith Gallery & Museum, the Library and the Kings Park, and the surroundings of wide tree-lined streets, public gardens, and views of Stirling Castle. There is a lift in the house.

A fully qualified and trained Housekeeper does the shopping and prepares the meals, after discussing menus with the residents; and the housekeeper can help with laundry if required. The housekeeper has an attached private residence, and there is a garden area where residents may sit or hang their washing. A cleaner is employed by the Society to clean the public areas and residents' bathrooms.

Each resident has a spacious private room with its own "front door" which may be kept locked and no-one may enter except by resident's invitation. The rooms have en-suite toilet and shower room, and in some cases a full bath. There are good quality carpets and curtains, and a small fridge in each room, while residents bring their own treasured possessions, such as bed, chairs, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, ornaments, pictures etc. There is a large sitting/dining room for the use of residents, a large modem fitted kitchen, laundry-room and a welcoming hall. The front door has a security entrance controlled by residents' push-button and intercom operated from their rooms.

Residents are responsible for keeping their own rooms clean, and if necessary can employ a cleaner. Lunch and tea are served each day in the dining-room, cooked in the house kitchen by the housekeeper or deputy housekeeper. Breakfast food is provided and residents make their own breakfast at a time to suit themselves. Friends may be received at any time, and may be invited to a meal, by arrangement with the housekeeper.

The charge is modest and covers all food, council tax, electricity and gas. Assistance can by provided in arranging specialist attention from a hairdresser, chiropodist, physiotherapist etc., and our accountant can assist residents in making applications for housing allowance, and other available council facilities.

If you would like to visit please phone our Housekeeper (mornings):-

At 17 Allan Park; 01 786 478772

Potential applicants should bear in mind that the house is very sheltered as opposed to registered residential care.
