Our
house is located in a quiet residential area approximately
300 yards from Bearsden Cross where there is a range
of shops to cater for most needs, the main post office,
six churches, the Burgh Hall and coffee shops. It
is close to bus and train routes into Glasgow and
Milngavie.
The mobile library visits Abbeyfield House every Friday.
The large stone-built house is set within an attractive
garden and has recently been refurbished and extended.
It has accommodation for 10 residents: six rooms are
on the ground floor and four are on the first floor.
Access to the first floor can be gained by a stair
lift for the less agile. All rooms are en-suite and
there is a fully equipped bathroom for the disabled.
The lounge/dining room is a large pleasant room with
a conservatory leading off it.
Both entrances to the residence are security protected
operable by residents from their own rooms. All residents
are linked to 24 hour emergency care.
